DT PurpleFuntastick Creations - Altered Journal/Notebook

Today our project for Purplefuntastick Creations Design Team was to take our 3-D flowers that we made for last challenge and make an altered journal or notebook. I decided to use a discarded library book and make this beautiful journal. I have to say it is one of my favorite things that I have made this year.

• Bo Bunny Paper - LOVE this paper. 
• Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge - Flowers cut at 2 inches.

I loved making this journal. The dimensions however will depend on your book side but I guarantee you will never look at books the same way again.  I will post the finished project when I am done. It is really turning out beautiful (the inside)

For the hop today, I've created .......

A simple A2 size card with the Cricut Imagine and Colorbok cardstock. I got this paper pack a while back because of the pink in it and never could decide how to use it. I cut my Mat (the brownish floral glittery paper) at 5 inches by 4 1/4. Then I printed out the Blue floral paper on my Cricut Imagine using Imagine More. I cut the strip at 2 inches by 4 inches.
Next I cut a Mat for my sentiment in nice soft green on the same Imagine More cartridge at 3.5 inches and the white is cut at 3.2. I inked around both with Chocolate Brown ink.
My sentiment is favorite verse in the Bible and is a stamp that comes with a beautiful cross from Verve stamps.

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The final accent is a beautiful rose. It's simple but elegant.

For the hop today, I've created .......

Then punched it with my fiskars corner punch (it embosses, too)
Next I cut a Mat for my sentiment in nice soft green on the same cartridge at 3.5 inches and the white is cut at 3.2. I inked around both with Gingerbread ink. Next I decided to try my hand at rosettes. I had so much fun making these. Their are many tutorials on You tube on making rosettes so please check those out. My sentiment is one of my favorite verses from Verve stamps.  It speaks to me daily.

Cardz TV Challenge #4 "It's a Guy Thing"

Hi everyone and welcome back for another fun CardzTV Challenge. Our challenge today was to make a masculine card for any occasion using any colors that we liked. 
For my project, I made a Twisted Easel Card using Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge. I loved this fish bowl and when I saw Mary's stamps, I knew I had to use it. 
I cut my Fish bowl at 3.5 inches in cream cardstock inked with sea blue ink. Then I used my Cuttlebug folder that looks like Bubbles to make the water stand out. I also inked around the fish bowl in Chocolate brown ink. When you ink around your pieces it gives them more dimension. 

Next I made my Easel Card using Mary's video the base of the card is cut at 4 1/4 by  9 3/4 in Chocolate Brown cardstock. Next is the card front cut at 4 1/4 by 5  1/2. I printed the green paper on my Cricut Imagine with the Imagine More cartridge. This cartridge has such beautiful printed papers. If you need to make a masculine card (like for our challenge) this cartridge is a great resource. Okay the green paper is cut 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches. All of these dimensions are on Mary's video. I cut a strip of the green paper at 4 1/4 inches to go on the inside of my card and then added another fishy at 1.25 inches.

My sentiment is from CardzTV It's a Guy Thing Stamps I used the Fishin You A Happy Birthday. To stamp it I used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink and then Cricut Lite Lacey Labels cut at 2.25 inches for the brown and 2.0 for the sentiment.

Welcome to the Based on A Book Blog Hop if you came here from Ashley then you are definitely in the right place. Didn't she have an amazing project. Now Everyone loves a good book. I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas well my husband did when he sold his iPad. But it ended up going to me. LOL. I have been reading more ever since. 

Today we are celebrating everyone's love of literature. I had a hard time choosing just one book to share with you today. But since I love this book as it teaches me  to do nice things for my husband - I chose The Love Dare by Stephen Kendrick and Alex Kendrick. This book has truly changed our marriage but here is the write up from Amazon.

One of the most important things to me next to my relationship with Jesus is my husband. He is truly an amazing man of God and I am so blessed that He chose me to be his wife. So in honor of him and the commitment I make to continually working on our marriage. 

To make this project I used my Cricut Imagine and Cricut Craft Room.

To assemble this card it was very quick. I inked around all the edges of LOVE with Chocolate brown ink, then I inked around the heart and stamped a sentiment from CardzTV Stamps Encouraging Thoughts X&O's on the Heart in Walnut Stain ink. 

The base is a sheet of 12x12 red cardstock cut at 4 1/2 by 12 inches. 

Then I accented the inside with the Label cut from Lacey Labels and stamped Hugs and Kisses. 

I think it makes a beautiful card and gift to show that someone that you love them. It made my husband smile. I also had a song played for him on a live webshow. He was so touched. It's important to do little things like this for those you love.

Inspirational Thursday - Bookmark

I will be honest, I don't feel like being inspirational today. But I felt that I should post something as I have all of you to be grateful for today. I made this beautiful bookmark for a wonderful friend of mine. I made it entirely using the new Cricut Craftroom. I definitely encourage you to check it out and not be intimidated by it.
To make this bookmark I used My Cricut Imagine
Cricut Cartridge used was George and Basic Shapes
The tag was cut in the Bright Peach paper from Imagine More at a height of 8.097
The floral paper tag was cut from Imagine More and George and Basic Shapes at 7.861
Flowers were all cut at 1.5 inches
For You was cut in brown at 1.083 then again in Blue at 1 inch.
I used CardzTV's Stamp set Encouraging Thoughts for the Sentiment.
Then pearls from Joann's for the flowers.

My project is inspired by Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I decided to make an Easel card today. For my card base it is a piece of burgundy cardstock with a green mat paper from the Imagine More Cartridge printed on my Cricut Imagine.  Then using George and Basic Shapes in the Cricut Craftroom and sized it to the size of an A2 size card for my mat.

Next I used Paper Doll Dress up for the stable cut at 3.25 inches.
Cricut Winter Frolic for Baby Jesus is cut at 3.25 inches. I then used my Cuttlebug folder to make the hay stand out more and give it dimension. Finally, I colored Baby Jesus Cheeks with pink chalk ink and outlined his eyes with a black gel pen.
My Unto Us a Child Is Born sentiment is from CardzTV Stamps Classic Christmas stamps
The bird is a sizzix die and the ribbon is from the Christmas ribbon stack at Target.

11/19 - Thankful Hearts

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays which always seems rushed! Rush to get the turkey and all of the fixin's. Rush to make out your Black Friday Shopping List and then rush everyone home to go do your shopping. Rush to have dinner done either before the football games or during halftime. Rush to visit family and friends. Rush to Eat and Eat and Eat! And when all is said and done and the rush is over - you might say "I'm grateful just to sit down and relax"!

Well, this year is different, it's time to sit back, take it easy without the rush. With Thanksgiving being one of our favorite holidays, it is a time to be thankful, reflectful, and to have a thankful heart. Sasha, Lynne's 6 year old granddaughter, has a heart shaped box which was conceived from a cartoon character that she watches,  Kai-lan. Kai-lan is a Chinese girl that wears a heart-shaped box around her neck and fills it with things that makes her heart happy.

We want to share "what makes our heart happy" and thankful through either cards and/or layouts. It is time to reflect and remember that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated to give thanks to God for a bountiful Harvest. Our Harvest is our lives. We are expressing our Thanks from our hearts to God and the people who have come into our lives whether they be family or friends.

For my project today I made a cute gift card holder. I used my Imagine for this project. (It works really well when it's not being fincky.) To make this gift card holder I took a piece of cardstock that was 5 inches by 11 inches and scored it at 2 1/2 and 6 inches. Then on my Imagine I used Imagine More and cut out a cute Grateful flower and then the inside is some very pretty floral paper where the gift card goes.
I really love how it turned out. I am grateful for my friend Loridee who I made this for. She won a gift card from Kohl's and gave it to her mom for a surprise. It is also how I had the idea to start Cards for Brighton which helped Brighton get to Georgia and will help us go back in March. 

I am so incredibly grateful. I have been doing a Day of Thanks Challenge mainly on Facebook but constantly living my life as I want my kids to...with an attitude of gratitude.

Originally I had a cute Vinyl wall art project to show you but the cats PJ and Teddy got it. It was on the wall and they climbed up. They are like two little kids but I love them. I promise to show that to you soon.
