Count Your Blessings Card - #1 CardzTV Stamps

I cannot believe that fall is almost here. I love this time of year. Back home we went on hayrides, sat by the fire, watched the stars, and enjoyed the crisp, cool air.  However, here in the desert, we enjoy sunshine, sipping my pumpkin spice coffee, and remembering what the leaves changing looks like.
Every fall I get a little homesick for the East Coast.
I have a friend who is in need of some encouragement so what better what to encourage someone than to make them a card.

For this card I used:

Butterfly Card

I love butterflies. This card was inspired by the embossing folder that I used to create the background.  I created this happy Butterfly card using a few fun supplies.
The White is embossed with a Butterfly folder from Sizzix. The Butterflies are from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. 
The sentiment Have a Happy You Day! is from CardzTV Stamps This 'n' That stamp set. You'll love this set. I find that I use it quite often.

Want Flies With That?

This year I decided to make my daughter's Valentines for school.
She is so excited this is the first of a set of three cards that I am making. 
The boys will get the frogs and the girls will get kittens or dogs. Carleigh wants Kittens. I think the dogs are cuter. 

To make this card I used:
Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Square 3 - 4 inches in black
Cut again in White at 3 inches
Red and White polka dot washi tape
Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Heart1 - cut at 1 inch
Embossing folder from Paper Studio hearts
Create a Critter Frog cut at 2.75 inches

Cardz TV Ch# 24 "Kidz Kardz"


Welcome to Cardz TV Ch# 24 "Kidz Kardz" Challenge.
We were challenged to make a set of 3  3x3 valentines cards for kids. 
Despite having kids this was a tough challenge for me. Mainly because of the small space. But I had fun with this and i hope you do, too.

I have two projects one is a beautiful Love Banner inspired by a project on Pinterest.
This banner uses Close to My Heart Art Philosophy and is cut from two great papers. 
The first being Studio G Valentines stack - I love the paper that I have done the lettering in. 

On Page 29 Banner 2 Cut in White at 5.25 and then in Red at 5 inches
The letters are cut at 4 inches. 
The heart ribbon is from Target and the Hot Pink Ribbon is from my stash
Next I made a card to match the Banner: 

The card is cut in the same cute paper from Studio G 
It is an A2 size card then the mat is cut at 5 1/4 by 4 inches. 
The bird is from Create a Critter at 2.75 inches
The Scallop is from Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Cartridge and is cut at 3 inches
The Banner1 at 2.25 inches 
Sentiment is from CardzTV Stamps - For the Birds stamp set and I used "You're My Tweet-Heart"

Horses Birthday

Hi everyone, 
Today I am honored to be a guest designer at Crafty Card Gallery for a 2nd today. Today is a special day for me as eight years ago I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl after being worked up for MS. She is our joy and makes us laugh daily. 
She loves horses. In honor of her birthday, I headed to the Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge and found the horses from the carousel. 

 The base of this card is cut from Close to My Heart Art Philosophy at 5 inches in white. Next the horses are cut from page 50 at 2.36 inches in Real Dial Size. The mats are from page 35 accent 4 in the floral paper at 3.5 and 3.25 inches. 
Carleigh loves pink so the horses are pink at her request. 
The sentiment of Happy Birthday is from CardzTV Stamps Happy Days stamp set. I accented the card with some pink liquid pearls as Carleigh loves bling like any girl. She loves her card and has it displayed in her room.

Coffee, Tea, Hot Cocoa Blog Hop

What is your drink of choice? (non-alcoholic) Coffee? Tea? Hot Cocoa?

My project is a hot cocoa packet holder. You can't go wrong giving these as gifts to your family and friends. The paper is from a Holiday stack and I love this paper!

To make it you cut a piece of cardstock at 4 by 11. You score it at 4 3/4 and then at 10 inches.

Then my mat paper is at 3 1/2 by 4 1/2.

My Son Liam and I made this card with me tonight. We had so much fun and it reminds us of the year we made the beautiful hats for our Thanksgiving table with the cute turkeys. "In the eyes of children, we find the joy of Christmas. In their hearts, we find its meaning."

As joyous as Christmas is for most families, for some, their holidays are filled with worry, medical treatments and tests, and pain -- for their child must be hospitalized or she or he needs long-term care rather than being home with their families. 

For these kids, Santa doesn't slip down a chimney but rather, often comes in the guise of community volunteers who help make the season bright.  



This is the second Christmas season that our own band of dedicated and loving paper crafters have come together to make Holiday banners for children who are too sick to be home for the holidays.  Welcome to the Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids blog hop!

I am especially pleased that this year, not only have our numbers of generous crafters swelled so our Hop is over three full days, but also, that we have partnered with another great cause and recipient of our banners!


By teaming up with Madison Womack's I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT, the banners our crafters have handmade will be going to the hospitalized children at Children's Hospital Central California!
