One Word - Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!! A New year brings new challenges, the chance for a new start, people make new resolutions and often break them. This year our family decided to choose one word for our family goals for 2015.
My quest for this word started with GetOneWord.com  where I decided that instead of writing a bunch of resolutions, we would pick one word that we would focus on all year. In talking to the kids everyone had a different idea of what our one word should be. I got answers of respect, togetherness, family, joy, responsibility, servanthood, and even cake. But in the end one word won and that word is

Family sums up what we want to work on togetherness, less screen time, more family game nights, laughing more, watching movies together, having fun together. I plan on blogging about our journey of growth and learning as I want to be able to look back on it all someday. 

We are incredibly blessed to have our bunch of 11. Each child is unique and has an amazing personality from the oldest to the youngest. 

I am proud of the kids for choosing this one word for us for 2015.

Blessings Wednesday

I believe that it is important to count our blessings daily and not just at Thanksgiving. On Wednesday in our house, we like to share what we have been blessed with this week.

Some of our blessings this week included:

• A new gate for the kitchen for safety so Jack cannot get in and eat food which could (still not determined yet) harm him.
• A new g tube for Jack which appears to be working much better than the last one. PTL!!
• A good week at school for sis and Mac.
• A good report from our virtual teachers.
• Continued provision...God always takes care of our needs.
• Ducky is talking more and really advancing more out of therapy each day. I'm so proud of him. He can now make cell phone calls. LOL.

These things are little but have been a big blessing to us. I invite you to sit down and count your blessings today!!
